Samuel Duru (Nigerian) is a confident, proactive, level-headed, and socially intelligent young person who is able to work well either in a team or on his own. He is a social innovator, Eco-enterprise developer, writer, poet and creative thinker, currently based in Cape Town, South Africa. Samuel is the founder of Vision Bearers Foundation, a youth-led organisation based in Nigeria, where he has executed a range of sustainable development projects. He is currently the leader and coordinator of the Action Teams at Challenge:Future – Open Innovation Platform, a global youth think-DO-tank and student competition – with over 24,000 active members since its inception in 2009 – co-founded by TMK Lab, CEEMAN and IEDC-Bled School of Management. Action Teams are time-bound, online groups of Challenge:Future members with goals of creating and sharing specific impact project deliverables. Students and youth alike from different countries, backgrounds and contexts connect virtually to work in teams to share know-how and best practices – showcase new innovative solutions that promote sustainability and create new opportunities for youth despite physical separation.
